INDIA TOUR with Graham Hancock

15 - 28 March 2014

INDIA TOUR with Graham Hancock

15-28 March 2014

For the first time you can travel with bestselling author Graham Hancock on a unique tour to India to explore the "Fingerprints of the Gods". Get unique insight into Graham's new research and share ideas with him on the ancient wisdom and the secrets of the past during an eye-opening sacred journey into the heart of India.

1. About our tour to India:

Our 14-day long itinerary includes visits to the most beautiful and mystical places in India. We will go through central India to visit the most important icon of this country - the Taj Mahal. The next stop will take place in Southern India where we will discover the mysteries of the oldest Indian temples. We also visit Eastern India to learn about the culture and ancient spirituality of this country, finally we will visit Northen India to experience and feel the energy of the place where the Dalai Lama lives. The locations visited on this tour will enable our guests to fully understand that India still holds many ancient secrets. India is still a land of mystery and one of the most spectacular countries to visit on this planet.

What is more, during the tour you will take part in private lectures given by Graham Hancock. He will show us new evidence that supports his theory of a lost civilization. He strongly believes that technologically advanced culture existed in many places all over the world (for example in India, Egypt and Turkey) and was destroyed in a global cataclysm at the end of the last Ice Age. Now there is a time to reveal the truth about our past. And this is the reason for joining Graham Hancock on his tour to India to follow the "Fingerprints of the Gods". This will be a once in a life-time experience, this tour may never happen again!

Graham Hancock about our India tour:

"I spent four years of my childhood in India and the experience has shaped the entire subsequent course of my life. I’ve been back many times and travelled the subcontinent from north to south and from east to west, but I always look forward with keen anticipation to my next visit. This is because, unlike in other big, modern industrial nations that have long ago lost all sense of the sacred and all respect for “what the ancients said”, the sacred life still permeates India through and through to such an extent that an appeal to the authority of scripture can settle all disputes. And unlike the cultures of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, China and the Americas, where only spectacular fossils of architecture and language remain, the culture of India is still vibrantly alive today, and offers as its gift to the present a vast library of archaic rituals, dances, games, ceremonies, festivals and customs as well as an immense oral literature that has not only been preserved and continuously passed on in the memory of sadhus and rishis (sages, wise men) for thousands of years but that is also celebrated, rehearsed, admired and relished in hundreds of thousands of Hindu villages from the Himalayas to the sea.

Our tour will be a journey of rediscovery and of new discovery for me. I have been to Khajuraho before and known the spell of extraordinary tantric magic cast by its its beautiful temples and sculptures. I’ve stood amazed before the Iron Pillar of Delhi. I’ve walked the banks of the Ganges and felt and experienced the deeply ancient spirituality of Varanasi, a city that has been continuously inhabited for more than 3,000 years – a city so sacred that many Hindus seek to end their lives there, believing that in so doing they will achieve moksha, or liberation, from the cycle of death and rebirth. But I’ve not been to Aurangabad, or Agra or the Taj Mahal, or Jaipur, or to the caves of Ellora and Ajanta and these, too, we will visit and explore on the exciting, eye-opening sacred journey into the heart of the mystery that is India. I look forward to travelling with you there, and sharing the magic, and reconnecting with my own spiritual roots in this ancient land that has reached out to me since childhood and that still exerts a profound magnetism on me today."

GRAHAM HANCOCK is the author of the major international bestsellers "The Sign and The Seal","Fingerprints of the Gods", and "Heaven's Mirror". His books have been sold in more than five million copies worldwide and have been translated into 27 languages. His public lectures, radio and TV appearances have put his ideas before audiences of tens of millions. He has become recognised as an unconventional thinker who raises controversial questions about humanity's past.  Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Hancock's early years were spent in India, where his father worked as a surgeon.

2. ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrival to Delhi (15 March 2014)

Arrival at Delhi International Airport. A representative of “The Time of a New Era” company will welcome our guests at the Delhi Airport and transport them to our hotel. After the check-in process at the hotel, our guests will have time to rest. In the evening we will have dinner and an organizing meeting with "The Time of a New Era" company's staff. Overnight stay at the hotel in Delhi.

 Day 2 - Varanasi (16 March 2014)

Travelling to Varanasi. Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the world. The holy city Varanasi, believed to be founded by Lord Shiva about 5000 years ago, is placed picturesquely on the west bank of Holy Ganges River and is one of the most revered religious destinations in India. The place is also renowned as a place for performing last rites for the believers and the mortal remains are immersed in the water of Ganges in Kashi.

In many ways Varanasi epitomizes the very best and worst aspects of India, and it can be a little overwhelming. However, the scene of pilgrims doing their devotions in the River Ganges at sunrise set against the backdrop of the centuries old temples is probably one of the most impressive sights in the world.

During the day 2 in the evening we will take part in an incredible spiritual Hindu religious pray - Aarti, where we will hear the singing of believers with candles in their hands and the "cleaning the soul" music. After that we will go back to our hotel for dinner.

Day 3 - Varanasi & Khajuraho (17 March 2014)

Early in the morning we will go again to the Ganges river to observe (from the boat) Hindu believers starting their day from taking a bath in the river. After that we transfer to Khajuraho.

 Day 4 - Khajuraho (18 March 2014)

We are spending a whole day visiting Khajuraho. Khajuraho is A UNESCO world heritage site in central India. It is a famous tourist and archaeological site known for its sculptured temples dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu, and Jain patriarchs. Khajuraho extended over 21 sq. km and contained about 85 temples built by multiple rulers from about 950 to 1050. Khajuraho continued its religious importance until the 14th century but was largely forgotten afterwards. Both internally and externally the temples are richly carved with excellent sculptures that are frequently sensual and, at times, sexually explicit.

Day 5 - Orchha (19 March 2014)

Orchha is a small town. It is a peaceful place ‘far from the madding crowd’. Orchha had the distinction of being the capital of one of the largest and most powerful kingdoms of Central India.

A visit to this ancient city, with its 16th and 17th century palaces and temples situated on the banks of the Betwa river, will give you a glimpse of a bygone era – the ‘India of the Maharajas’ – and, at the same time, provide insights into the challenges that young people, farmers and workers face in India today.

Day 6 - Ajanta (20 March 2014)

AJANTA is one of the world's greatest historical monument recognised by UNESCO located in India. There are 30 caves that  were discovered in AD 1819. The first Buddhist cave monuments at Ajanta date from the 2nd and 1st centuries B.C. All paintings show heavy religious influence and centre around Buddha, Bodhisattvas, incidents from the life of Buddha and the Jatakas. The Ajanta caves preserve some of the best masterpieces of Buddhist art in India.

Day 7 - Ellora (21 March 2014)

Ellora is one of the most wonderful and breathtaking places in India with its most Incredible Indian Cave Temples. These 34 monasteries and temples, extending over more than 2 km, were dug side by side in the wall of a high basalt cliff. Ellora, with its uninterrupted sequence of monuments dating from A.D. 600 to 1000, brings the civilization of ancient India to life. Not only is the Ellora complex a unique artistic creation and a technological exploit but, with its sanctuaries devoted to Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism, it also illustrates the spirit of tolerance that was characteristic of ancient India.

Day 8 - Delhi (22 March 2014)

Delhi is a metropolis and the capital region of India which includes the national capital city, New Delhi. The area around Delhi was probably inhabited before the second millennium BC, and there is evidence of continuous inhabitation since at least the 6th century BC. The city is believed to be the site of Indraprastha, the legendary capital of the Pandavas in the Indian epic Mahabharata. Through most of its history, Delhi has served as a capital of various kingdoms and empires. It has been captured, sacked and rebuilt several times, particularly during the medieval period, and therefore the modern conurbation of Delhi is a cluster of a number of cities spread across the metropolitan region.

Day 9 - Agra & Taj Mahal (23 March 2014)

The splendour of AGRA – the capital of all India under the Mughals – remains undiminished, from the massive fort to the magnificent Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is regarded as one of the eight wonders of the world, and some Western historians have noted that its architectural beauty has never been surpassed.

Taj Mahal was built by a Muslim, Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his dear wife and queen Mumtaz Mahal. It is a Mausoleum that houses the grave of queen Mumtaz Mahal at the lower chamber. Taj Mahal was constructed over a period of twenty-two years, employing twenty thousand workers. It was completed in 1648 C.E.

Taj Mahal is built entirely of white marble. Its stunning architectural beauty is beyond adequate description, particularly at dawn and sunset. The Taj seems to glow in the light of the full moon. On a foggy morning, the visitors experience the Taj as if suspended when viewed from across the Jamuna river.

Day 10 - Agra & Jaipur (24 March 2014)

Morning transfer to Jaipur. Jaipur, also known as 'Pink City'  was founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II in 1727 AD. Jaipur is famous for its rich cultural heritage and has today become the most popular tourist destination in India. Here, one gets to see the architectural marvel of ancient forts and monuments that stand tall even to this day. The city has acquired the name, Pink City, because of the extensive use of pink color on the walls during the visit of the Prince of Wales.

The city is garlanded by the presence of number of beautiful monuments that echo the splendid history of the city. It is no surprise then that tourists coming to this city always feel the urge to come back.

 Day 11 - Jaipur (25 March 2014)

After breakfast We will visit all the major tourists' sites in Jaipur.

 Day 12 - Dharamsala (26 March 2014)

Dharamsala is best known as the home of the Dalai Lama. It is an incredibly beautiful city in the North of India, surrounded by forests and mountains. It will be the place where in the silence and focus we will go into spirituality of India and our soul. In Dalai Lama's monastery we will meditate. It will be the last place before our coming back to Delhi. The place that probably will change us and show us the way of our true spirituality.

Day 13 - Dharamsala (27 March 2014)

Another day in Dharamsala. We take part in the monks chant and meditation. In the evening transfer to Delhi.
